Ride a bike: Cycle Concord
Concord, NH, is enveloped by green parks, trails and forests – ready to explore by mountain or road bike. With two big outfitters in the city, S&W Sports and Goodale’s Bike Shop, let Concord be an escape to ride and explore. Start with paved trails off of Silk Farm Road or the West End Farm Trail. Kick it up a notch to the dirt trails of Fox State Forest in Hillsborough, Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown and Hopkinton-Everett Reservoir in Dunbarton. Here there are trails for all skill levels, from families to hardcore rider – all a short ride away from downtown Concord. Mountain or "off-road" biking is the real deal in New Hampshire, with lots of volunteer organizations building and maintaining trails. A Trail Guide Book can be printed or is available for purchase for $7 from the Planning Division, City Hall third floor.

Bear Brook State Park (Allenstown)
Lot of trails criss-cross the 10,000 acre park. Bear Brook offers a varied level of challenges for the mountain biker.
Hopkinton-Everett Reservoir (Dunbarton)
The "Hop-Ev" recreation area is more than 8,000 acres and has advanced intermediate and expert terrain with 20 miles of trails.
Northwood Meadows State Park (Northwood)
This park is perfect for the beginner and for family riding. There are trails around Meadow Lake and beyond!
All this not far from Boston and Vermont.
