Eateries that make it date

The Centennial Hotel’s award-winning Granite Restaurant & Bar in Concord is a beautifully styled, elegant eatery that's popular with both visitors and locals.

O Steaks & Seafood Chef and owner Scott Ouellette rethinks the classic steak house by using the freshest ingredients and complimenting the hand-cut steaks with inventive seafood dishes, like the signature Lobster Mac & Cheese. Next to The Hotel Concord.

At Revival Kitchen and Bar, fine dining meets an approachable atmosphere and products from New England are celebrated through a seasonally-inspired and locally-sourced menu. From fish caught in the Seacoast, to cheese made in Vermont, to berries picked in New Hampshire forests, the cuisine is a modern take on classic regional ingredients – thus the name ‘Revival.’

The Crust and Crumb is local-focused bakery making handmade, from-scratch sweets and savories that are out of this world, right across from the Statehouse. And, they have picnic provisions, too.

Bread and Chocolate is on Main and serves up tasty European treats.

Culture and the Arts

For lovers, Concord is home to the arts, too. The Capitol Center for the Arts and the Concord City Auditorium. Catch a theatrical production, dance performance, or comedy show at the Capital Center for the Arts, whose show offerings are varied but always well priced. The Auditorium also offers a variety of productions, many of which are put on by gifted local arts groups. And a third venue, The Bank of NH Stage, just opened, with great bands and music.

Or, catch a movie at Concord’s own non-profit art house cinema, Red River Theaters. In addition to featuring independent films, Red River Theaters often sponsors costume parties and film themed events. The facilities include the Indie Café that features locally made wine, beer, sandwiches, and candies.

Canterbury Shaker Village is more than an educational experience, visiting the Village can also be an opportunity for rest and relaxation. Youth programs, family activities, shopping at the Museum Store or dinning at the Café, in the Horse Barn are some of the things to do in this picturesque village.

Shopping

Concord offers lovers an urban atmosphere with a small-town New England vibe. With vibrant galleries, fine dining, unique shopping, and quaint historic downtown, Concord is the perfect place to spend a weekend strolling the streets and shopping in its many unique shops.

Hiking

One of the wonderful things about Concord is it is a city set in the middle of New Hampshire – where most of the state is covered with trees or water. Just a few minutes from Downtown Concord you can be on a hiking trail, swimming on a lake or exploring the wilderness. And, if you prefer to be on the water, Contoocook River Canoe Co. rents canoes, kayaks or stand up paddleboards on the Contoocook River and Merrimack River.

Look at a ring?

Main Street is home to a host of local jewelry shops with one-of-a-kind wonders, should the time be right, including:

Capitol Craftsman Romance Jewelers

A Jeweler’s Workshop

Speer's Fine Jewelry

League of NH Craftsmen Concord Fine Craft Gallery
