Streamlined + Classic Diners in the Concord Region
If there is one thing that you expect to find in New England it’s a diner. Classic diners offer a variety of American dishes, served at a counter or in booths – cooked to order, and almost always followed by pie and coffee.
The great ones looked like streamlined rail cars, as they were prefabricated back in the day. The diners slowly faded away, but they have seen a revival of late. They are part of our past, and part of the New England landscape. And, in and around Concord, the diner is alive and well and growing with the recent opening of the new Red Arrow in Concord!
The first Red Arrow Diner opened in Manchester, NH in 1922. After nearly a year of planning a genuine Red Arrow Diner atmosphere, the fourth and largest Red Arrow Diner opened in Concord in 2017, a love letter to the genre.
